The territory

Everything suggests that Vitorchiano was born on a pre-existing Etruscan village on a pepper cliff rising to the confluence of two ditches, defended by deep ravines and two walled enclosures. The ancient medieval hamlet of Victus-Orchianus, the current Vitorchiano, is located at 285 meters above sea level between the Cimini mountains and the Vezza stream.

Strategically erected on large boulders of Vimentchiano pepper, it is protected to the north, to the east and to the west by deep ravines, while the south prospect is defended by an imposing wall that extends over a 250-meter-thick pebble stone.

Vitorchiano has a crimson tower with a crown on its coat of arms, a laurel branch on the left and an oak on the right; The term S.P.Q.R. Is a treat to his devotion to Rome after around 1265 AD. The Capitol granted the country the title of "Faithful Land" and the unique and unique honor to be able to embellish the capitoline coat of arms.

The territory of Vitorchiano has an extension of about 30 Kmq and is adjacent to Viterbo, Bomarzo and Soriano in Cimino.

Mostly hilly the territory is rich in vineyards and olive groves, oak and chestnut forests.
